Use ERA, download Berserker patch in link below and XXL will work from ERA executable. From my folder, use only XXL editor and patch.exe to change sizes. |

Согласен, говорить о соблюдении стиля уже излишне. Хотя бы потому, что новый пакет монстров создаёт новый стиль. но реально в геройском стиле 3-4 не больше. Well yes, my goal was to obtain something new, more colors, action, more role playing. Thus the creatures accorded well with the maps layout and design. Unfortunately I have no force or time left to continue, so I will just lay here a few screens of how it looked. Several maps were done, but the ERM scripting part failed badly, impossible to get what I wanted. If one day any wants to use the objects with, let me know, I will upload, there is 1 GB H3custom.lod with anything you can dream about. |

3.58, it may work on ERA but I used a lot v1 for IF:G dialogs, so I am not sure. Besides this, in ERA the "next Hero" button does not work at the moment, so it may be annoying when playing with 16 heros at once. Difficulty: from hard to very hard, there are starting options. On the hardest, from what I played until now, it is the most challenging map so far. You don't need to speak english to play it, barely just to understand the options menu, that's all. The stories are decorative. |

Yes, if everything goes right and enthusiasm does not leave me, all those modifications will come out as a stand alone mod-campaign of 8 scenarios, provided by a self installer. Expected size, between 80 and 130 mb (all music tracks included). Based on a Sega-Genesis game, Shining Force. (1992). You will be the leader of 19 custom characters, each with its own upgrade and unique look, its own weapons and spells, and only 8 can fight at once, but you can switch regardless who you need in a specific battle. Takes some time... |

I don't see it as a negative aspect. I always thought there are not given limits on how far we can mod a game. Or are they? I remember that Civilization mods which chaged drastically the layout of the game encountered frank success, I only hope we can handle modding to be at least 1/100 productive as they are. If they can do it, why don't we even try? Both games are similar in quality. even if all objects are new All the objects made in H3 style in the last 10 years are covering some 30x30 area. I know this because I am using them. 90% of them were made in the last 3 months (Astaroth) Of course, if anytime some new layout objects go in, everybody pops to yell "it is no more H3", then there is no chance and we will spend another 5 years to visit learning stones. |

I need badly more trees layout . If anyone gets some interesting trees, please let me know. From H4, only jungle trees are worth the ripping, the others look bad in H3. So far, those are the games with interesting trees: There is a very interesting plugin for max, TREESTORM. Here is an example: Anyone used it? I would appreciate if someone could explain me the wind pattern, particularly I need to understand how to limit the number of frames to have good transition between the first and the last. The only solution is to go back to first frame in reverse mode? |

Well yes, if you expect a mod to look as the game you have on hard disk, then you need to define what modding is for you. The mechanics will not be affected, you still move your hero across the map, do battles (those changed a bit, characters can move + attack/spell on same turn--ERA function--), get income from mines, end turn etc. Instead of the hero gaining experience, it is the creatures who get it, and can upgrade at level 20 to a more powerful creature etc. Astaroth joined the team and will work on dialog graphics, those are previous graphics (obsolete from now): |
