Allied Maps:
- Several Scenario Maps have both allied and non-allied versions for single or multi-player games. It's easy to spot the allied versions in the scenario list, each has "(allies)" next to the name.
- If you choose an allied scenario for a single player game, you will ally with one or more computer players (depending on the scenario).
- Data Transfer was significantly improved! Amount of data transferred from player to player was optimized to reduce transfer times to a fraction of those in version 1.0.

Multiplayer Updates/Enhancements:
General Updates:
- Clicking on the "Chat Slider" in multiplayer no longer crashes the game.
- An enemy can no longer attack heroes visiting a Sanctuary with the use of the arrow keys.
- Hot Seat: In combat, defeated creature stacks no longer graphically glitch when the last creatures standing are 'Blinded'.
- Multiplayer games launched through the the Heroes III, version 1.3 game, can play Restoration of Erathia multiplayer maps with games launched through the Heroes III: The Shadow of Death program. Note: the Heroes III, version 1.3 game cannot connect to multiplayer games launched through the Heroes III: Armageddon's Blade program.
General Updates:
- Dragonflies now cast weakness on the creatures they attack.
- Player can control the arrow towers in siege combat if their defending hero has the artillery skill.
- Heroes available from the adventure map taverns are the same as the heroes in the town taverns.
- Changed the formula for the necromancy skill. It is now based on a skeletons hit points.
- Heroes can now leave creature stacks to guard mines.
- Non-upgraded creatures can be recruited from an upgraded creature dwelling inside the town.
- Campaign briefing screen now displays an icon representing scenario difficulty.
- AI hero will now value shooter enhancing artifacts depending on the amount of ranged attack troops they have.
- AI controlled monsters will now avoid the moat when castle walls have not been breached.
- Points for finding the grail are now included in the final score when the game is won from a saved game.
- Customizing a hero will no longer remove the catapult from the hero's inventory.
- Memory issues regarding low memory, stored graphics, and town defense have been resolved.
- Monsters can no longer attack a hero visiting a trigger spot if that hero is not touching the monsters trigger.
- When threatened, AI hero will now protect the castle instead of going after the grail.
- Flying monsters no longer stand in place for the entire battle because of obstacle placement.
- Using the "Resurrection" spell at a low level extensively during combat will not make the price to surrender a negative number.
- Clicking on "Max creatures" after performing a sacrifice at the Altar of Sacrifice will not crash the game.
- Slider on the Altar of Sacrifice will now reset.
- Heroes exiting the shroud during Repeat Opponent Turn will not be invisible.
- Wandering monsters on water now have a one square attack radius similar to wandering monsters on land.
- "Next Creature" and "Start Combat" buttons no longer disappear if the game was minimized and restored.
- The hero selector buttons on the adventure screen no longer disappear after viewing the scenario information screen.
- Resolved an issue with the hero getting off a ship during Replay Opponents Turn.
- Special Victory Condition: "Build Grail in any town" now functions correctly and no longer crashes when you look at the Scenario Information screen.
- Using hot keys such as "D" for "Divide" in the town screen no longercauses a phantom click or other aberrant behavior.
- Pressing the "T" key when a player doesn't have any towns no longer causes an illegal operation.
- Clicking on a hero's equipped artifact in the kingdom overview screen will not switch automatically to the back pack and cause odd game behavior.
- Creatures with the "Berserk" spell cast upon them will now move towards the nearest creature if they can't reach an enemy in one turn.
- Owning more than 51 map creature dwellings does not crash the game.
- It is no longer possible to fly into a mountain and stop using the arrow keys.
- You now visit adventure objects instead of flying over them while using the arrow keys.
- Re-hired heroes no longer get multiple stable bonuses.
- If a garrison hero was eliminated during his turn, using Replay Opponent Turn no longer causes him to appear permanently in the visiting hero slot.

- Clicking on the "Chat Slider" in multiplayer no longer crashes the game.
- Catapults now remain functional during long castle siege combat.
- An enemy can no longer attack heroes visiting a Sanctuary with the use of the arrow keys.
- Hot Seat: In combat, defeated creature stacks no longer graphically glitch when the last creatures standing are 'Blinded'.

Потом сравнивал версии полностью установленных версий героев (с последними патчами) и смотрел, что изменилось. Полностью сейчас не распишу - только в общих чертах:
Радует, что ни одного файла не заменяется - только добавилось. Для клинка сделали всё своё, как и экзешник, так и редактор карт и кампаний. Порядочно изменений...
Как ни странно отличий мало, патчи всё-таки здорово причесали разные версии. Помимо интерфейсных изменений, только с 2 десятка файлов отличаются.
Добавились мануалы в пдф для всех трёх аддонов. Изменился экзешник игры, также изменились оба редактора карт и кампаний (правда почему-то без изменения версий). Помимо интерфейсных изменений, изменили в лодах и видах ТОЛЬКО титры.
Самый кавай начинается если рассматривать карты, вот тут понеслась свистопляска. 2 карты, удалённых из сода 3.2 вернули на месте
Faeries.h3m - в комплите версия 2.0 (забыли обновить вероятно).
One Bad Day - Allied.h3m - в комплите вообще непонятно что за версия такая, я решил что раз в СоДе версия поновее на 6 дней и к тому же совпадает по времени с Faeries.h3m, которую тоже вероятно забыли обновить, то эту я тоже обновил.
Myth and Legend.h3m - забыли вероятно просто добавить эту карту.
Также сравнил здесь видео и звуки с дисков. Звуки идентичны, а видео - отсутствуют катсцены к Возрождению в бик качестве, нету обоих интро роликов от Клинка Армагеоддона и нету LOSEGAME.BIK

Коснёмся немного вопроса максимального качества. Как известно на дисках имеются видеоролики и озвучка к кампаниям. Качество этих видеороликов менялось от релиза к релизу. В игре можно выбрать видео качество Высокое или Низкое. При выборе высокого качества игра пытается прочитать ролик в формате BIK, если его нет пытается прочитать в формате SMK, если и его нет покажет чёрный экран. При выборе низкого качества игры игнорирует BIK файлы. Поэтому для обеспечения условий поддержки на слабых машинах нужно было либо выпустить обе версии ролика, либо только SMK версию. Что приводило к невероятному раздуванию дисков.
С озвучкой всё проще - она одинакова на всех дисках ))

Немного выводов. Как же получить диск с максимальным качеством? Очевидно что надо взять как можно больше бик файлов - напихать их в Heroes3.vid и удалить smk копии. Мы берём диск Комплита за исходный, накидываем в него катсцены и LOSEGAME.BIK с диска Возрождения Эрафии, удаляем все смк копии и добавлеям H3XINTR.BIK до кучи. В теории у нас должно всё работать. На практике у меня ни один бик ролик не проигрывается. Вообще ни один!!! Кто-нибудь может это подтвердить? Катсцены черны как ночь, интро нет дальше проверять уже не стал. H3XINTR.BIK - вообще непонятно как проиграть (ну в принципе от него отказались, так что и необязательно я бы сказал).

Хроники героев
Нет смысла рассматривать хроники раздельно - надо смотреть готовый вариант.
Главные отличия: можно играть только кампании. 6 кампаний из 8 миссий и 2 кампании из 5 миссий. редактора карт, редактора кампаний нет. Несмотря на это можно предположить, что он всё-таки где-то существовал поскольку версия кампаний 7 (что легко видеть попытавшись отрыть кампанию в стандартном редакторе). Хотя думается, редактор практически не отличался от обычного.
Сперва приведу список изменений между кампаниями. Это интерфейсный набор (у Хроник интерфейсных изменений значительно больше, чем у разных аддонов к героям):

Игра использует для катсцен и других видео роликов общий для всех героев вид архив. А вот снд архив совершенно другой, что и неудивительно.
Перейдём к отличиям от третьих героев:
Помимо экзешников у хроник обновилась бинк библиотека.

Переходим собственно к содержанию общих для всех хроник архивов. По инету сплошь и рядом гуляют европейские версии хроник поэтому пришлось столкнуться с дополнительными сложностями. Я имею в виду британский английский. Да он отличается от американского, и да довольно сильно (color->colour, traveler->traveller и т.д.). Теперь собственно список изменений:
